Table of contents
Release, platforms and price
Loftia launched into Early Access on November 3, 2026 at 7 p.m. German time for PC and Mac on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It costs €28.99, with a 17 percent launch discount, and it also offers in-game purchases. A Nintendo Switch version has been announced for 2027.
Ahead of launch, a closed beta ran with around 25,000 players. At the Cozy Game Awards 2026, Loftia was named most anticipated game.

What is Loftia?
Loftia is a cozy game with an online world. You live on floating islands, build your home, garden, gather resources and meet other players in town. Combat and time pressure aren’t the focus.

Instead of classic fields, you grow plants hydroponically. That fits the solarpunk theme, where nature and sustainable tech go hand in hand.

Living, decorating and community
You design your character in the editor, and houses can be decorated however you like. The town is the social hub where you chat with others and work toward shared goals.

Colorful creatures keep you company on your travels. Alongside the main story there are side quests, treasure hunts and adventures you can tackle solo or with others. In Early Access, though, there isn’t a whole lot of content yet.

From Kickstarter to launch
Qloud Games funded Loftia through Kickstarter, pulling off one of the most talked-about cozy campaigns of recent years. The game launched without a big publisher behind it.
System requirements and languages
At minimum you’ll need an Intel Core i3-10100F or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 560. Recommended are a Core i5-12600K or Ryzen 5 5600, 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 or RX 5600 XT. The game takes up 10 GB.
Text is available in 14 languages, including German. There’s no voice-over. The USK has rated the game 12+.

Verdict: How Loftia holds up at launch
The first Steam reviews are mixed: 64 percent of the first 17 user reviews are positive. Players mostly praise the relaxed, pressure-free pace, the cute art style, the freedom to decorate and the friendly community. Several point out that Loftia never pushes them to grind or spend money.
On the flip side, players criticize the €28.99 price for an Early Access game, a very slow start with a tutorial that can run past two hours, and time-limited content tied to in-game purchases. Some also find it too similar to other cozy games.
For us, Loftia is a solid, cozy game with a fresh solarpunk setting at launch, but it still needs more content and a quicker start. If you love cozy games with an online world, you’ll find plenty to like. Everyone else is better off waiting for a few updates or a sale. Our score: 63 out of 100, which makes it “Okay”.

At PlayInsider we rate every game individually and always against the expectations of its genre. We judge the story of an action game or adventure by its narrative quality.
